We're staying in a Youth Hostel here in Xian. We are bang smack in the middle of town. Any more central and we'd be in the middle of the roundabout. The Hostel looks out onto the Bell Tower which is located in the centre of the main traffic area.
I'm in the bar at the moment and its full of people. Theres lots of young groovy Chinese and quite a few Westerners. The soccer's huge here and its on at the moment although for me its hard to follow in Chinese.
Mia and I vistited the Bell Tower today and paid the entrance fee and were then disappointed that you actually had to pay again to ring the bell. One American guy paid for 6 rings (there was a scale of how much you paid for how many rings) and the Bell Nazi woman nearly jumped out of her skin, he rang the bell so loudly.
There's an amazing wall here that used to enclose and protect the city. Its still completely intact. We rode bikes around the top a couple of days ago and it took and hour and a half. That gives you an idea of the size of it.

Yep, it's official - I'm worn out and I'm only reading your Blog!!
What an adventure Mia must be having! Do you have a 'favourite' place/experience yet? Your photos have been fantastic. Can't believe we will be seeing you all soon. x
