We drove to Detroit last evening so that we could catch our early flight today. I realized once I got to the hotel that I had forgotten my driver's license. I packed everything but the kitchen sink and my license. Kevin's brother Tom and sister-in-law met us at the hotel since they live just outside of Detroit. They took our car to their house. This morning was hectic our day started at 4:30 am. I had to go through extra security because of not having my license. The plane was delayed for 2 hours due to radio failure but we made to Salt Lake City at 11:30am. We started our 5 hour drive to West Yellowstone. Once we entered Yellowstone National Park the fun began. It wasn't long before we saw Bison and Elk. It still amazes me that people will walk within 10 feet of these wild animals (Kevin was video taping just in case they got trampled, this never happen and Kevin was bummed). As we drove further into the park, we came across our first geological feature, some hot springs. We stopped and took pictures, then, headed down the road to meet up with my neighbors in Fairborn. We met them in Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone and had dinner. William, our son who lives in Durango Colorado was flying to Bozeman Montana to vacation with us for a week. We had to pick him up at 11:30 pm in Bozeman which is 100 miles from Yellowstone. We thought we would just get a hotel in Bozeman everything was full all the way back to Gardiner Montana at the north entrance of Yellowstone. We found a nice Best Western on the Gardiner River for a mere $160, but we had a nice bed. By the time we got to Gardiner, MT at 1:30 am (3:30 am eastern time) Kevin and I had been up for 23 hours. Bedtime was much appreciated...
