So today started with the NJ Transit from Princeton Junction to New York Penn station, I came up out of the exit to see the Empire State Building! So I decided that should be my first stop. Sadly it wasn't as quiet as the scenes in 'Sleepless in Seattle' but I'm sure it was much quieter than it would be in Summer. When I stepped out the sun was really strong and I had to take my coat off! The views were incredible, I spoke to lots of different people from all over the world who were enjoying the sights and sounds of NYC on the way down the elevator I spoke to a gentleman and his wife from Seattle which was very funny.

I had a wander up 5th Avenue to see the shops and then a stop at the Rockefeller Center to take lots of pictures. Sadly I didn't see Liz Lemon or Tracy Jordan but it was fun all the same. The tree is being dressed at present but there were lots of people enjoying the ice scatting rink. Had a bit more of a walk up to Central Park and spent lots of time enjoying the quiet and people watching, it was really strange being in such a big park in the centre of Manhattan. I tried out the subway and went to Time Square. I spotted two half naked cowboys and lots and lots of people. I didn't even get Downtown today!

It was so much fun. I think I was expecting it to be more magical as I've built it up in my head for so many years. It was great anyway and I'm looking forward to exploring more, hopefully on Friday or Saturday with my host family.

So tomorrow is turkey day, I'm so looking forward to it! I will let you know how it goes if I don't fall asleep early from over indulgence!
