Despite being pretty tired we decided to make the most of the unusually sunny San Fran weather and rented bikes to cycle across the Golden Gate Bridge. At our first photo stop we met a friendly Australian called Zidal, and although he was wearing a T-shirt saying 'FBI (female body inspector),' ' he was cycling on his own, so we let him join us (plus we needed someone to take some pictures of us together - otherwise all our holiday snaps are just going to have one person in them!)

We cycled from Fisherman's Wharf, around the bay, round to 'the fort' (can't remember its name!), and then up to the bridge. The cycle across the bridge was really cool - we even managed to complete the whole 2 miles without killing any pedestrians!

On the other side we had a well deserved break and I (Vix) was looking forward to a nice piece of chocolate. Now Becks had warned me that Hershey's chocolate isn't the nicest (Becks - it tastes like gone off milk/vomit), but as a lover of all chocolate I thought it would be fine. I was wrong. Don't ever eat it, it shouldn't even be called chocolate! (Becks - I wish I'd taken a photo when Vix tried it, her face was hilarious!)

Anyway...we cycled another couple of miles (downhill, wheeeeee) to a very pretty little town called Sausalito, got some lunch and caught the ferry back across to Pier 1. We then cycled along the Bay front, sharing the road with cars/buses/trams but made it back alive to the bike centre where we received a very enthusiastic welcome back from the staff (Woo yeah! Alright guys you made it! Woop Woop Woop!) (I don't think they expected us to return). (Becks- I don't know how they stay so enthusiastic all day.)

We said goodbye to Zidal and went back to our hostel where we had dinner and met our roomates. One of them was called an indian guy called Manish - the funniest person we've met so far! He is convinced the world is going to end in 2012 after watching the film of the same name. We pointed out that the film is fictional, but he told us he had the evidence to prove it's going to happen, and proceeded to get out his laptop and show us a Youtube video of an obscure American news report.  His advice was to get married and have children asap before this happens, and that he was a most eligible candidate... He plans to come find us in the UK in a year or so and propose (Becks: Dad he has your address, good luck with that!) ... We plan to ring him up in 2013 ...
