After crossing the border from Peru into Bolivia without any hiccups we found a hostel sharing a room with an interesting ´hippy´ Irish women who now lives outside Cuzco. We ate a fantastic Mexican [Guacamole here is amazing] and the next day packed a small bag for our boat trip across Lake Titikaka to the Island of Isla Del Sol.

Lake Titikaka is supposedly the highest lake in the world and is so massive that it looks like the the source to the ocean as the other end can´t be seen. Arriving at around 10am on the small island we had all day to walk the 8k from the north to the south. As can be seen from the pictures the scenery was amazing, but the walk was tiring as the heat got up to around 25 with no wind. This was made all the more difficult with our battered bodies that had not yet fully recovered from the Machu Picchu Trek.

Arriving in the south we realized we didn´t have enough money for tea and there were no cash points on the island. Luckily we bumped into 3 travellers who kindly lent us money and we ate with them. We would have starved otherwise. We stayed the night on the island, hopped on the boat the next morning back to Copacabana and straight onto a bus to La Paz.
