Hello! My name's Becca Johnson. I'm 19, I grew up in Pekin, IL, and I'm a nut-case! So I'm pretty fun.

I guess I'll tell you a little about myself. I went to Pekin High, where I participated in Show Choir and Speech Team. I love to sing, I love to dance, I love to read and write. Most of my free time is spent reading and/or writing fan fiction. My most recent fan fictions that I have written are WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) fan fics.

I work 25 hours a week, and go to school full time, I think I'm certifiably crazy! Or not so much... I work nights at Subway, if you're hungry you can come bug me. I make a pretty awesome sandwich!

I just switched my major from Horticulture to English. I never really knew what I wanted to be when I grew up, and I still don't, so picking a major and sticking with it is tough. I've always loved to write and tell stories, so my game plan for now is to earn a teaching degree for English and teach High Schoolers (God help me) English somewhere in America - hopefully not in Illinois. Then, if all goes according to plan, I can publish a book or six...! I have an extremely active imagination, and that hinders me a little in my ability to focus on one thing for long periods of time.

I have one puppy (well, not so much a puppy anymore, but still a puppy at heart) named Dipstick, and very accurately named. I love to spend as much time as possible online, playing on Twitter, FaceBook, and FanFiction.Net.

My reading plans this summer include Catch, by Will Leitch. Catch takes place in a small town in Illinois, Mattoon, and is all about a small town boy trying to find where he belongs - sounds a lot like my own life. I can't wait to get started reading this book.

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, An Eclipse Novella, by Stephanie Meyer. I'm pretty sure that this takes place in Forks, Washington, but I could be wrong. It's all about the first new born vampire that Bella (from Twilight, by the same author) ever encounters. I'm excited about reading this, because I loved reading the Twilight series (although the characters, specifically the three main ones, annoyed me quite a bit...)

Old Magic by Marianne Curley. This book caught my eye in Walmart, and I jumped to buy it. It's all about this girl who is passionate about witchcraft, and meets this kid in her class who has never fit in, because he holds a dark, mysterious power! Oooh! So exciting!!!

And then I'm off to The Warrior Heir by Cindy Williams Chima. This is actually the first book in a four book series. The story is about a boy, who for as long as he can remember, has always had to take this medicine for unknown reasons (sounds a lot like The Giver, doesn't it?) but then he stopped taking it one day and discovered his amazing strength! And he slowly evolves into himself and who he was meant to be. When I found the book on the shelf in Barnes and Nobles, I couldn't pass it up! It sounds so interesting, I can't wait to get to it!

I'm not too sure what I really need to do to prepare for my trip, but I'm sure I'll end up doing plenty of research along the way. The fun is always in experience!

Hmmm...an English major? I love it!

I, too, loved my time teaching middle school and high school English (God help ME!).
