Peter, his best friend John, and John's girlfriend Deana flew into Gatwick on New Year's Eve, and it has been an amazing visit ever since. We took a train into Victoria station from John's cousin's house, where we are staying while in England, on New Year's and walked to Westminister abbey, arriving just in time at 11:55, where we had a close-up view of Big Ben ringing in the new year and the fireworks that went off above Big Ben and Westminister. I still cannot believe I did that! The next day we went into London again at night and went up in the London eye. It was my third time but I had not been at night and it is worth going to see the skyline lit up. We had dinner nearby in the theatre area at Wagamama, which was excellent. Today, the adventure continued to Ireland. We flew into Dublin and took a bus to Galway, and then went out at 10 pm for fish and chips at McDonagh's, which was delicious. Tomorrow we are going on a seven hour tour of the surrounding area, including the cliffs of Moher, which sounds wonderful. What with Italy, the family in London, and kissing Peter in front of Big Ben at midnight with fireworks exploding overhead, I am having the most wonderful Christmas break ever!
