Hard ride 400km from Dolisie to Brazzaville... Relentless corrugated dusty roads. thank goodness for the Chinese! They've compacted some sections in preparation for tar! Would be more fun of I wasn't nursing my welded brakes!
No fuel on route for 400kms, a bit of a stretch! No stations open on Sundays, Had to resort to file from bottles on the side of the road...oh joy!
Got into brazzavile for 4pm hoping to do a quick sunday night crossing, no such luck so its a night in town! Brazzaville - borders closed.
Quite a nice city actually so we made our way to the famous Hippocamp where we met up with a few other overlanders, travellers, NGO's, UN and charity types... Nice to just chill and even had some Thai food... Absolutely amazing to have a break from fish rice and chicken!
Met French foreign legion, British military and Swedish fire fighters all working on the relief and reconstruction after an amo depot explosion in Brazzaville in March. Amazing story (google it! That's for all except Andreas who now doubt will already be halfway through the story!). The devastation is apparently immense! Like a Blevie.
Wouldn't have minded a rest day but keen to crack the border from hell!!!
