Mamfe has nice feel, we stopped in at the Data guest house, very upmarkwt... Excoet theres no shower...hmm haven't had a shower since Lagos...African baths all the way.

Cameron has a different feel to Nigeria, less hectic and the driving is far more sensible ( don't mistake that for sensible!). The people are friendly but in a slightly wary way? Theres a real mix of languages, french is official but English seems to be widely spoke with the local languages. They're quite formal, lots of good afternoons and extra welcomes.

We got the bikes washed in the town (looks barns new!) and wandered round eating snacks and generally having a snoop, we didn't get te usual groups following and asking lots of questions but more stares...

Ate some more meat street food (just wont learn). The sales process was to the point;

Q; what meat is this?
A; meat.

Q; hmm is it beef, or cow?
A; meat.

Q; ah like sheep?
A; meat.

Q; Erm...goat?
A; meat.

Q; ok I'll have two please.

Fairly certain it was cane rat...really.

The Chinese appear to heavily involved in this part of Africa building roads, albeit they're only just scratching the surface! The locals don't speak too highly of them calling them "superior" and imitating their accents...quite funny actually! But perhaps that's why they're a bit more wary of

Rising through the villages was fun, the school kids run after you waving and smiling...hmm and screaming white white white...

Adrian's brake hose burst and while he's out of action I went to town for him to sort a new one ( stripped and refashioned from an old yamaha DT 125). I dropped a bolt and heard a voice behind me; "hey white, you dropped your bolt". Haha can you imagine saying hey black...

Manage was a bit expensive or rather word got around town that we were there as prices seemed to increase by the hour. We left at midday today to get to Bamenda, brilliant ride through beautiful jungle.

Only a few km's of mud!
