So, it's unfortunate but true but if you listen to advice from people who don't quite get what you're doing then don't be surprisd by what you get! We headed to Kumasi to see the Ashanti kings palace and the proud ashanti people with their gold reserves... I have not doubt (and I hope) we missed the point but Kumasi was rather dull!

Firstly, we get pulled over by policeman (AK47 wielding) in a taxi..,no lie...for apparently ignoring is order to stop! Hmm last thing I remember was waving to a policeman lounging in a hammock...I must been mistaken, I missed the uniformed clearly demarcated police check point (hmm naively still European). I wanted to comment on his official mode of transport but my better sense of judgement prevailed.

There was a lengthily discussion about the validity of Adrian's number plate settled only with an offer of 5cidis! (£2). What a knob! Ghana is supposed to be my Mecca and its turned out to be a one of the only places where we've been threatened for a bribe. Kumasi - sin city!

So it was never going to go well for Kumasi, a bit big and a bit dull! Rubbish!

So, how dull? Well I'm fully aware that the NDP ( national democratic party) will not be elligible for these elections because they submitted there memorandum late and with mistakes...yawn! Bizarrely the spie ( james bond) who loved me was on a re run on tv so not much better although im some how happy see tv!

Next on TV was the SA miners strike action which is clearly going down like a poo in the bath in africa! Sort it Zuma!

I could bore you with some food stories but there aren't any, a recommendation from the hotel led a to a pizza and chinese restaurant. Grumble grumble rubbish! We actually didn't eat.

So we've decide to leave, Kumasi dull, we're in this for an adventure!
Highlight of the day, kids running along the bikes shouting "Wali" (i believe thats it) which means hello white man how are you! Quite funny (if that is of course what they're saying) when you say hello back and they scream I'm fine thank you and how do you do! Bizarre, but we all are happy with the exchange.

Kamasi...the end
