Where I stayed
Wednesday 28th February to Saturday 3rd March 2007
After being delayed due to electrical storms at Sydney Airport we finally set off for Hong Kong. What a flight, loads of turbulence ad "flight panic", particularly Karen and Imogen. We arrived late into Hong Kong, pleased to be on the ground, and whisked away to the funky Cosmo Hotel.
Over the next two days a heavy schedule of exploring of Hong Kong City. The Central Escalator, the longest in the world, was a welcome relief for weary legs (and Daddy's shoulders!), which ended with an unexpected encounter of some amazing animals at the Hong Kong Zoological Gardens. What excitement! We settled into some great food while we were here and spent some time getting to grips with chop-sticks for every meal!
On our final day the pace increased with an amazing trip on the Peak Tram up to Victoria Peak, where we took in the views and soaked up the last bit of sunshine and warmth that we would feel for a while. The trip across Victoria harbour on the Star Ferry was a highlight. Once on Kowloon we watched an incredible sunset over Hong Kong Island followed by a spectacular "Symphony of Lights" laser show from some of the tallest skyscrapers in the world. We all loved Hong Kong!
We then packed our bags for Beijing......
