Sydney - Wednesday 3rd January 2007 to Friday 5th January 2007
Arrived in Sydney after an 18 hour flight from Santiago. Along the way "lost" 2nd January and ate three breakfasts! First port of call was Australian Immigration, where Karen managed to slip into the country with her new Aussie Passport and Jack had his Amazonian Blow Pipe confiscated due to it being a dangerous weapon! Within two hours we were all taking in the morning views of the sensational Sydney Harbour. We felt pretty good to, however, jet lag was soon lurking round the corner. Kids all up at 2.30am feasting on left over sushi and noodles - what a life!
Fully refreshed on Thursday Steve and Jack fancied a bit of Pom bashing and set off in quest of tickets for the third day's play of the Sydney Test at the SCG. Despite being destroyed by Gilchrist and Warne, Steve with "Barmy Army" Hat and Jack with his first Aussie Baseball Cap had a fantastic day eating meat pies, drinking a few stubbies (only Steve!) and singing "We're the Army, the Barmy Army...!" & doing "The Disco" with the Barmy Army! Anyway who won the Ashes...?
