We've had amazing weather so far... but on our two free days, the weather was less than optimal. In Toyko, it had rained over night but during the day it was very windy and cool. Today, it's raining all day. It's a light rain, but rain nonetheless. Original plans were to run a few errands in the morning, then go over to Gion again for some shopping and Geisha dancing, then to a sword shop we say yesterday, and then to one of the popular public baths (hot springs) in Kyoto. The rain kind of ruined these plans but we made do. A small group of us decided to sleep in (this was a very good thing) and then head over to the Teramachi Shopping Arcade - this was insane... so many shops! It was awesome. I had a good chunk of money to spend (I didn't want to convert it back to US Dollars because I would just lose more money - the exchange rate has been getting worse and worse each day that we've been here). So I bought a bunch of souvenirs and fun things. Some snacks, some trinkets, and a few other things. It was fun. I could have kept going but my feet have just about had it. I cannot believe how much walking we've done in 13 days. Miles and miles. I think it's the only thing that has kept me from not gaining a ton of weight on this trip. First thing I want to do when I get home - get a pedicure!

We have a group dinner tonight. Our last meal as a group and our last meal for the trip. We're doing shabu-shabu.. the hot pot, when you put your raw food in hot water to cook it yourself. It's all you can eat and all you can drink for 2 hours... sounds about right for this group. After dinner, we went out to find a bar for a few drinks as it was our last night out. The bars here are so small, they only fit 10-15 people. The first one we tried couldn't fit us all so half the group went to the next bar and found a really chill blues bar where we had a few beers and lots of good laughs. Back to the hotel to pack and get ready for the longest Saturday on record! I'll be getting up around 4:45 am... and after traveling for 20 hours, I'll be arrive in Boston at 3pm... hopefully I'll get some good sleep on the plane and be able to stay up long enough to fall asleep at the normal time when I get home.
