Where I stayed
My hotel in Montreal was right beside the Olympic Park, Biodome, Insectarium and the Botanical Gardens. I thought the open bus had a stop of a few of these places being that they are major attractions so I set off in search. hmm...no luck. I guess only the 3 hour city tour - not a hop on/hop off goes out there. Weird. Had to take the metro downtown and get the bus there.
Got downtown and holy busy! I found the tourist info centre and got my ticket for the bus. Good timing cause one was ready to go. The tour guide said everything in english & french and told lots of jokes too! The poor guy was talking non-stop. There were soo many things to see, I really dont remember everything...
After the bus tour I went to see Notre-Dame Basilica. There was construction in front of it so I couldn't get a good picture. The inside is amazing, the blue ceiling with stars, so rich. It was close to closing time so I didn't spend as much time as I would have liked.
I had to try the smoked meat and poutine in Montreal so I walked into Old Montreal to find a restaurant and found one that had a courtyard - totally reminded me of Europe. Had a great meal and got to relax for a bit. After dinner, I continued walking down to Jacques Cartier Square. This area had such a good vibe. It was getting late by this time so had to find the metro and headed back to the hotel.
It was a long but great day - saw sooo much.
