After a GREAT night's sleep was all charged up and on my way to Medicine Hat.  I knew Willy & Marilyn weren't going to home til later that day so took my time and took in the sights...unfortunately all the highway pics look exactly the same!   Long straight roads, vast blue skys with puffy little clouds.  Very picturesce but not much in the way of touristy things to see.

I went to the Tourist Info Centre in Medicine Hat and got a map and some info on the city.  First I went to the largest TeePee in the world and read about the area history.  Then I headed down to the Historic Clay District which was more difficult to find because some of the roads were closed as this area is down in the valley and was hit by the floods.

Medalta Potteries was open and I checked out their museum.  A decent part of it was someone's personal collection which they donated because they wanted to public to see the pieces.  They varied from everyday bowls, ashtrays to vases and quite unique pieces.  I liked the donkey.  Normally you can watch people make the pottery and can make something yourself and they will ship it to you but wasn't happening that day.

After that I drove down to the Historic Downtown but being Sunday night, it was pretty dead.  Then I just drove aimlessly around and got high enough to take a picture of the church downtown.  You can really see how lush it is - very nice.

It was about 5pm when I called Uncle Willy and I was just in time for dinner!!  I hadn't seen Uncle Willy, Auntie Marilyn for a few years and Tracee even longer.  We had a greatvisit and they must know me well cause the drinks kept coming.   Was hoping to see Trevor but he had been out of town all weekend.  Next time!
