We went there because of some one day geological trips we had to do with a geomorphologic subject.
This region belongs to the "Parco Nazionale delle Cinque Terre" what is a nice area situated facing to the Mediterranean See and is very tourist (as almost everything in Italy).
The island is not very beautiful, but the coastal part, which has high cliffs, is fantastic. Moreover, if you want to go to the island you can rent a boat or take a taxi-boat; maybe you can reach it if you are ready physically and you prefer going by yourself... swimming...
