I left pai one night early to try and break up the journey to chaing kong from chaing mai, great move the bus from pai to chaing mai was a long seven hours and i would have hated to have got on an overnight bus to chaing kong so instead a great night out in pai was had, met one of the authors for lonely planet who has opened a live music place called Babylon in chaing mai, nice, great bands.
Early the next morning took the bus to chaing kong again lucked out and the minibus had only one other couple! left at 9am and got to chaing kong at 6pm overnight in a 4 usd night place with fan and bed and not much else. tried to watch the football but too tired and had a little runny tummy so early bed.
