Checked out - and boarded 1 of the 4 boats - jam packed,
ready for Phuket! After researching our accommodation's website we'd discovered
the resort was ran by an English couple - Steve and Bobbi (yes Bobbi is a girl
lol ) I had skyped Bobbi, made the booking and we were informed there'd be a
driver waiting for us at the Pier - sounds good!
We were
greeted by Mr Lek - our driver and were accompanied by a Spanish couple destined
also for Sansuko! On arrival, Bobbi met us, a Yorkshire lady, who was very
cheerful - she showed us the room whilst stating if we didn't like the room she
wouldn't be offended - turns out we had aced this 1 - place was absolutely
perfect - pool, pool table, room huge, bed comfortable, place spotless but
overall it's best asset - Steve and Bobbi !!! They welcomed us like we were
family, Steve even taking us on a guided tour in his car of the local beaches
and restaurants and bars! We really felt at home here, if you wanted food from
any of the local restaurants they even offered a service to drive out and take
it back for us - they also had motorbikes for rent - we chilled the 1st day and
on day 2 the Irish duo made every Thai's worst nightmare come true - we took to
the roads on a motorbike each - Bobbi jotted down a rough map of places to see -
nightmarket, aquarium, best beach etc
After taking off like
something out of Mad Max we started to realise we really were in a rural Thai
community, the way we wanted it so we could see a bit of the real Thailand

On approaching some of the junctions and roundabouts we were
absolutely crapping
it! As you approached a red traffic light there is a countdown from 30seconds
displayed for when the light will turn green, on 3 secs all you could hear was
loud REVs - people were ready for take off, anyone behind us had to mirror our
speed limit we had set 45km per hour
haha

We thoroughly enjoyed our day of sight seeing, getting
lost and all round feeling cool lol

That
evening we scrubbed up in our luxurious bathroom and made a B line for the bar -
other guests included a Norweigen couple - Sonny and Espan. Soon we were getting
back on the beer train and having powerful craic at the Bar! Steve was the
barman for the night - very friendly chap.
Bobbi, his wife was
having an early 1. She deserved it after having made Sunday Lunch for us - yes actual home cooked
traditional Sunday dinner -
potatoes, gravy, home made special recipe Yorkshire puddings, the lot !! Get in
there you beauty - first taste of normal home cooked food in a month !! Really
miss not being able to just stick on some toast and smother it in laughing cow -
I'm not asking much am I ? haha
Bobbi's dinner - I could write a
blog on it alone - "a come dine with me" maximum of 10/10
!
Anyways, back to the important details, getting drunk, we had
gotten along with our new Norweigen friends that well that by the end of the
night, they  had invited us to their ski cabin in Sweden - we've arranged the
dates and everything Haha !! Craic was 90

That night was like a warm up to the eye
opening main event which lay ahead the following night !

Our Last night in
Thailand - Why the deep voice ?

We decided that
we would pack our suitcases up, not bother motor biking ( we heard a loud
phewwww over the resort wall) - laze about the pool - knowing that our flight
the following morning departing for Singapore at 905 am - I repeat 905am , sure
we could feel the hangover already !
Another great
service, on a weekly basis steve and Bobbi would take their guests to Patong, a
bustling tourist resort about a half hour drive away - Tonight was our night !
Regular Sansuko guests Sunny and Espan, myself and Caoimhe, 2 lads, Evan and
Jan, our captains Steve and Bobbi, and pilot Mr Toy !
I was asked by
Espan and Steve on numerous occasions, "are you ready for this Brian?" With
every answer I grew quieter, and the beer was consumed quicker !! Steve then
told me about a Scottish lad they took out a short while before, he ran away
frightened for his life haha!
We started a pub
crawl, Patong was NUTS, stalls everywhere, pubs and clubs hammering out the
tunes onto the streets - Steve and Bob had the usual routine laid out, they knew
the owners - Due to some new Irish in the tour they decided to take us to
scruffy murphys - Irish Bar with live music, jammed it was ! Pretty sure myself
and Caoimhe were the only Irish in there ! The group were from Asia and started
belting out Bloody Sunday haha in a real fricking crazy way, it sounded good
!!!!
Next stop Lady
Boy central !!! Bob and Steve had been that many times they were all friends - we
got seated and then the mentalness started !! Brian "what are you doing here"
kept repeating in my mind ! Some photos were taken, drinks were bought, and the
craic was brilliant ! Put it like this, in the end we were in stitches laughing
and found them all to be dead on ! They weren't backward about being forward !
Right let's go ! Few more bars , some good live music suprisingly - time now 330 am- into the bus, stopped at a
mechanics garage on the way home, which turns into a cafe at night lol for a
feed - bed for 5am - alarm set for 7 am
:(

Mr Lek drove us
to the airport - we were shattered - he had to pull over on side of road - I
boked into some Thai persons front garden ! Terrible !! All in all - great last
night in Thailand - thanks to Steve and Bobbi who I know will read this ! And as
for Sonny and Espan - c u guys in Sweden :)
Next stop
Singapore !!

Arrived at
lunchtime 30th November in Singapore City, Singapore.
Obviously nothing
booked, we had forgot to, as you do - wondered about the airport DYING - looking
for Internet cafe - none to be found- seen an accommodation help desk - she said
there was limited rooms left in city as there was some big event on ! Anyhow to
cut a long story short we paid an arm and a leg for 5 star luxury and were
booked into an executive room in the "landmark village hotel"
 )
In the city
centre - this backpacking is such a drag haha
I think we were
too hungover and too tired to care - taxi - 15mins - checked in - WOW

Ah well it was
only a 1 night stop over before the big flight to OZ !
looked out our
17th floor window ! Singapore Skyline was spectacular - Amongst all of the
skyscrapers we seen a snippet of this masterpiece - Marina Bay Sands hotel -
just built - (http://www.marinabaysands.com/  ) we had seen it on tv
before coming - it was truely enormous !! We now realised we were in totally
different surroundings from our lazy rural islands where beers cost a quid and
room set you back 20 - we were now dealing with Singapore dollars - crashed
into our football field bed - lights out !

Next day woke up
well refreshed and decided after our breakfast (in the executive lounge excuse
you me haha ) we would put our tourist hats on - we had heard of how modern the
city was and it's obsession with electronics but this was taking the Michael
!
We ventured into
1 of the many malls , 6 story high, filled to the rafter with back to back
electronic stores filled with laptops and cameras ! Must have been 200 shops of
just pure geek toys ! I was in heaven haha and had been toying with the idea of
getting myself an iPad (A giant version of my iPhone) but in the end I seen the
light and refrained from my impulse disorder and wised up - fact it had no web
cam (for skyping), USB ports and you have to hold it up all the time just killed
it for me (however news has leaked that the iPad 2 will have all of this - watch
this space ;) )- Caoimhe however was on the lookout for notebook and fell in
love with a HP mini - however she decided to wait for down under to purchase

Ok let's stop all
this geek talk :) we done some more venturing and walking amongst the giant
buildings before we just went - "fck it " you know what I miss ? The Cinema !!
Haha so we asked about 50 locals where the closest cinema was!?? We were told
their 2 main languages in Singapore are English & Chinese - well I tell ye
wa it was until the 50th person until we got more than just a blank look ! We
finally got there and on entry I'd been praying something was on soon -
preferably "Due Date" the movie I'd been wrecking Caoimhe's head about for a
month that I wanted to see ! And sure enough we got some well deserved luck -
asked the lady in box office - an she replied "Due date starting in 1 minute"
(no lie)
Get in !
Hilarious show ! Alan from the hangover starred - favourite line " I thought it
said Texaco" - they were stoned in the car and they needed fuel - turned out he
was at the "Mexico" border patrol ! Nice way to end our Asia trip

Taxiiiii !?
Australia please !
