After a 10 minute intro to the boat, we setoff up the grand union canal and turned right into the Oxford Canal, and bridge 109, and about an hour later we stopped at 'The Folly" pub for a refreshing ale. we accidently broke a glass in the beer garden, so retreated at 3 miles an hour down the canal... came across our first lock 3 minutes later. the first of 9 to get us up the top of Marston Doles where we parked for the night, unfortunatly, our cook had a roast chicken in the oven and was checking it as we entered a lock, being new chums I hit the side and she was burnt. Lesson one of many!
