11//24     Bradenton/Thanksgiving week

The Muscatells are such a fun family.  We stayed with Tom and Butch at their winter home in Brandenton, FL.  While we love it when their kids and Kiki and family are there with us, it is great when just the four of us get together.

One of the first places we go is to Basil's, a great Greek fast food restaurant where Jack had to stop when we arrived in town, even though it was 9:30 p.m.-didn't even wait to go with Muscatells.  Next is Beall's Outlet stores.  Monday is Senior Day so Butchie, Jack and I headed out to catch the bargains.  Most of my shopping waits until we get to that store because one can find decent quality merchandise at incredible prices.  However, it takes a lot of sorting through many racks and making several trips to get the best bargains.  That is one of the few places I like to shop, whereas Jack rarely finds a store or swap meet where he can't spend a seriously long time shopping.  Unlike most couples, I sit and read while he shops.

While in Bradenton we got to have dinner with our friends, Scott and Helen Ledgerwood.  They are such a fun couple and while we don't see them often, we managed to catch up and had a great visit.  Unfortunately, we did not get to their great home during the rest of our time in Bradenton.  Another place we missed in the area was the Ringling Museum in Sarasota, which was the one tourist place in that area we had intended to revisit this trip.

Thanksgiving was hosted by Brett and Nancy Muscatell in Tampa.  It was a huge houseful and what a great time we had.  Brett was so cute and proud.  It was the first time in ages he has had his five children staying with him for several days.  They all love each other so much and it is fun to see them together.  We stayed at Kathy's lovely home and had a wonderful leisurely visit with her.

Guess Jack was getting pretty worn out because he did not get up at 4 a.m. to wait in line at Best Buy the Friday after Thanksgiving like he did last year.   Next we are going to relax in Daytona Beach which has become Jack's favorite city in Florida.

Wow! We're Famous!
Wow! We made the blog! Wheeeee!
We did have a fun evening with all the hubbub of a bezillion sports commentators in the background hawking their 'knowledge' of an upcoming game! 'Did you know no team wearing socks has ever failed to lose a championship?' That's about how incredulous I find their 'candid' brains....

Keep havin' fun!
Ledge
