Today was an at sea day but a very interesting one. We started on the balcony at 7.30 am looking at a volcano. Stromboli could be seen from our balcony so we had a group of 5 looking at the smoke/steam coming out of the top. We have been told we will see it again from the other side at 4.30pm on the last ship day.
We introduced Irene and Raewyn to the breakfast parfait they have in the main restaurant. We also met the waiter who served us on the first day, Bambang. He was fun and we had tried to get his area again without luck but we often talk to him. He was most impressed with John's three wives.
After a relaxed breakfast we went shopping. Irene wanted to buy a watch, Raewyn some bling and I also found a 'gold’ bracelet. We emerged to find we were just going through the Straits of Messina and had great views of both Sicily and Italy. We went to the top deck and took heaps of photos.
Raewyn and I went to the travel guide presentation and struggled to get a space. We stayed for both halves, and heard about both Dubronavich and Korfu. In the afternoon we also went to the one about Olympia and Santorini, where we found that Santorini is named for St Irene.
We spent time in the loungers by the pool and also in the hot tub. It was good to have weather that made this attractive.
Tea was formal so we had booked, although our table was not ready when we arrived. We broke the pattern by not all having lobster but all enjoyed out meals. Irene, John and I visited the Ocean Lounge to see the end of Zack’s act before bed.
