Bree's Visit

Ya know Sarah and I always said that this trip was going to go quickly once her mom and dad arrived.... It's over a week after we've arrived back from our surreal get away and it's hard to believe that it's over. So I have to first apologize for taking so long to blog; the simple fact is that if I blog about it, it's over. And second there was some pressure added on to actually making this one, I guess we didn't know we had a crowd. Well its been long enough and reality has set in (something we grew very far from over the last couple of weeks) and now its time to blog... pull up a chair... this ones gonna be a doosie~!

Low and behold the oh-so-anticipated-arrival of Ms. Tropp came quicker than we anticipated and in a flash Sarah was straightening up the house and I was getting reacquainted with the couch...(It was a new couch and honestly I'd been on a good behavior streak). The visit itself started off with Sarah and Bree being in different terminals and meeting up an hour after she was out of Customs. Thank god for slapped together emergency Spanish (Bree and Sarah's previous trip wasn't all party party party) and thanks to Mom, Nancy, Mrs. L....(you know the drill) telling her to look up for Sarah. See when Bree looked up, there was no Sarah, and fortunately "Donde esta mi amiga" is international for where the heck am I and how do I get back to the other terminal that I didn't know even existed!?!?!?!

So the tour began... and please don't judge the pictures in order with the prior Leffring visit, we did everything in the same order so don't dock us points for creativity, however even though we did the tour the same the weather was opposite. Sorry Again Bree...Normally it doesn't rain for 6 days straight and stay unbelievably cold when visitors come (normally yes, but not with visitors!).

Basically we toured the city during the week, wet of course, and on the weekend we enjoyed life like an argentine.* Friday, we did the usual...went out to the local pub, made a mockery of the happy hour drink special, and then went bar hopping! We must say this was a rather spunky night for the Argentine boys seeing that we had a new Blond haired blue eyed girl with our clan, we were definitely attracting some foolishly drunken attention (Bree- Blue shirt, white scarf... that's all I have to say). We came home around 7 AM, made a pizza opened a bottle of wine and when the sun got to bright we crawled into bed (Dan went to the couch) around 8:30... woke up around 3 PM. Immediate hang-over cures were needed and we swiftly deployed for a Choripan and some Mate...plus a bunch of aspirin (see earlier blogs)

Most people at this time see the light at the end of the tunnel, catch a good movie and call it a weekend. However we had dinner plans. So right back into the showers and off we were just 12 hours after we had finished partying earlier that day. We found a nice little restaurant in the posh area of Las Canitas and enjoyed a nice Argentine meal with some friends. Dinner ended around 1 am and after bar hopping a bit we decided to spice up the evening. This wonderful idea lead us to a bar called JOBS, where you can shoot archery and drink a beer at the same time... in fact you can, as the movies show, drink a lot of beers and they still let you shoot and arrow. (If anyone takes that idea from me before I open a bar up at home ill be very disappointed in them, it's my idea that I'm stealing!)
We can't lie this night carried on until the wee hours of the morning again... but Sunday we did make it to Recoleta and we got to shop!

*(This was a slight deviation from the last time, though judging from the party we had at home, Mr. & Mrs. Leffring, Mom Dad, Harvey Nancy, could have kept up with the Argentine crowd)

The Rest of the week was nice... we took a bus tour, went shopping in Palermo, and at Bree's request she sat in on a lot of classes and quite possible made a love interest out of my wonderfully interesting and hopefully innocent taxi driver Carlos!

We took off Thursday and the Surreal-Life began!

Miami

7:00- The Flight Lands
7:30- We get out luggage
7:31- Dan gets a waft of a strange smell coming from the bags
7:32- The broken Chardonnay bottle is found broken and soaked into all of our clothes
7:33- Hysteria sets in... Bree's connecting flight won't let her board, Sarah's clothes are soaked, and Dan's seen better days
7:40- Bree makes a run for her connecting flight (I'm pretty sure she almost punched out someone from the airlines, but that's here nor there)
8:30- We fail at getting and earlier flight out of Miami, so we shrug it off and head for the beach
9:00- Dan gets a creepy look from a janitor as he showers in the bathroom sink
10:50- After an hour on the stupidest buss ever Sarah and Dan arrive at the beach. However the beach seems to be blocked by never ended strip of Hotels and Sarah wants Denny's, not IHOP (she gets neither)
11:30- "We've been walking for miles...see water, no entrance, someone save us, ITS SO HOT!!!!"
11:45- Stop at Walgreens and by Sandwiches, Jalapeņo Chips, Fiji water... I LOVE USA
12:00 - BEACH!!!!!
12:10- Only cloud in the sky decides to rain on Dan and Sarah... Leaving the very-old- and-inappropriately-dressed-bikini-wearing polish ladies to enjoy the sun... Dan is emotionally scarred from mental images
5:00- ROTATE- FRIED LIKE BACON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
