BARTON: Summary:
Met up with my sister's family (Beth, Evan and their kids Danya and Sulmi) for 12 days at Arches NP. An awesome campsite. We had 40 mph of wind both days in the afternoon, the tents were only slightly damaged. Three nights at Lake Powell (Page, AZ) at the Lodge, two camping nights on the north rim of the Grand Canyon, and two nights at the Lodge of Bryce Canyon...
ARI:
Petrified Forest:
PF was so cool because we got to see different color rocks, even purple and yellow ones. One rock looked like a ship.
Arches:
Arches was so awesome because we got to climb from the bottom up. But we didn't get to climb on top of it because the wind blew too hard and we would blow off. We saw a humongous rock that looked like snoopy and one that looked like a pig. At our campsite, we found a secret hiding place. It was at the highest point near our campsite on a tilted rock that wasn't too steep. We roasted marshmellows and all the cousins got to sleep in the tent together.
Lake Powell:
Lake Powell was so fun because we got to go on a house boat. And I got to jump off the house boat. And there was a waterslide on top of the boat. And we got to go on the waterslide. We we went cliff diving.
Grand Canyon:
In the Grand Canyon we hiked on a trail and when we were hiking up the trail we got really really tired. And at the top we saw mules poo and pee. And we started whittling. And I cut myself.
Bryce National Park
Bryce NP is so cool. We slept in a log cabin and we went on a hike down the canyon. On the way back up, we heard a huge loud sound of thunder and saw two big cracks of lightning. I was scared and the rain started pouring on our heads as we ran.
BENJAMIN:
Arches and Canyonlands were so cool. We saw all these random boulders everywhere for no apparent reason. It was so magical seeing all of the arches. it was just like looking at history in front of our eyes. All the hikes were so unique. They all had major height differences that were so cool! I have to go there again!!
AWESOME!!!
Lake Powell:
All I have to say is unbelievable. We went on a house boat for a day. We were floating in the middle of nowhere. It was so cool. We got to swim in the middle of the lake at any time. The boat also had a slide that was awesome. I went headfirst, but it kinda hurt haha. It was still amazing. Me and my cousins and siblings are planning a overnight boat trip on Lake Powell after we are all out of college!!! Also while staying at Lake Powell we went to Antelope Canyon. The formations inside were so unique. There were light streams coming down from the sky everywhere!!!
Words can't decribe the time I had at Lake Powell...
Grand Canyon:
Grand Canyon was so amazing. Just looking down was just unreal. All the formations of the rocks just shows me all the history over the years. Walking down into the canyon makes me feel like I'm really in it! INCREDIBLE.
SABRINA:
When we visited Arches NP it was like we were walking on the moon! Some rocks were made up of sandstone; I broke off a pieces and it almost crumbled in my hand! Yesterday, my family and the Rubenstein Marckevich family (our cousins) went on a house boat for the day and it was so beautiful! The boat had a slide coming off the back of the boat and everyone slid down it. We also jumped off of the side of the boat (about 10 feet hight). It was amazing!
