Rome really is amazing...Last night we went out to eat a little italian joint by Hart's old apartment, being run by the same family that ran it 6 years ago when they were here. On the way there we walked through a park that used to be Circus Maximus, a giant stadium that held 250,000 people for chariot races (Ben Hur). Noone spoke english at the restaraunt, so the head old guy just brought us out 5 plates of Pasta Carbonera. It was really good and deffinetly an authentic Italian experience. After dinner we went to a couple bars and it quickly became 3 AM. We must of took about 100 drunk pictures, stumbling around place like the Pantheon. Pretty crazy.

We finally woke up around 1030 this morning, and headed out around 12. Me and Nick decided to just go to a park right next to the colliseum and read, while the other guys walk around. We had reservations at the Borghese Museum for 3 PM. Now, Im not normally a big museum guy, but WOW! You have to have reservations and are only allowed in there for 2 hours. It had a bunch of sculptures by Bernini, probably the best sculptor ever. A whole bunch of ancient Greek and Roman sculptures, and a bunch of paintings by this artist named Caravaggio. If youve never seen anything by him, look him up on the internet. Some of his most famous paintings are in this museum. I really did enjoy it in there, I took all 2 hours, and I got this little audio guide that gave a bunch of background on the artists and paintings, so now I can actually speak semi-intelligently about this stuff...Until I forget it all after this trip....After that, we went to a couple churches, then to the Pantheon, which now holds the body of the artist Raphael, and is basically a big church now. Its just amazing that these things were built 2000 years ago. We just got done having some Gelato, and now were off for dinner and some more drinks.

Tomorrow is the Vatican.........
