The riding was a bit more challenging today. Very strong head winds made the ride quite challenging. At least 40km/h, but at least, its flat......
The bad part, though...My knees are killing me. To be honest, I don't know what to think about that one..........Well, to be honest, I'm quite freaked out.....My knees are the most important part of my body on this trip (besides the lungs...). If they give up on me, that it for this trip....well, for the biking part anyway......I really don't know what is the issue. I tried to find a bike shop, but no success. It is surely an adjustment issue, but not sure where to start without fucking things up more........It now hurts when I walk downhill...hmmmmm....Where is a decent bike shop????? Tough to find on a saturday night....
Up to now, I find it tough to meet people. I always seem to end up in family-oriented campgrounds where people mind their own business. Not bad in a way, but not great if you want to meet people. There is also this language barrier. The Flandres part of Belgium speaks a language very close to the Dutch. Quite a few people speak english, but not too many. And don't try in French.....there is a bit of friction between the Flanders part (mostly Dutch speaking) and the Wallonie (French speaking). Maybe I should head for the Backpackers hostels and party with the 18 year olds touring all the european capitals and taking the night train..............On second thought..Nahhhhhhh.........I'm sure the wind will turn around at one point.
My arrival in Brugges was quite early, so I went for a visit of Brugges. What an awesome city. A bit similar in the architecture (see pictures).
As for the cycling, my mileage today was 60 km for a total of 250 up to now.
