Well I made it- after what in some ways was a gruelling 24 hours travel but in many an enjoyable experience. I'd have to recommend Qatar airways, service and facilities were awesome. Plus my flight to Doha the plane was empty- Sid you'll be happy to know I taught them a lesson on gin and tonic drinking. They didn't have a snack pack but they did have in flight menu.

Doesn't matter how much you know I still ended up paying the old taxi scam after getting an awesome high speed train from the airport. Cost me the outrageous price of 4 quid for a taxi ride that's should be about 1. I knew I was being ripped off but at the time I was so whacked I didn't care.

Got into the hostel on time 4pm, it's standard hostel so that's cool no frills with a bed. Walked in decided to get a couple of beers before hitting the sack- asked guy in dorm where was good for a beer. Anyone going to guess where this one goes?

Well yes did end up beering it up to the max chatted to loads of people and had a general very good time. May be heading to the islands tomorrow- so life's not to shabby here.

Nick you'll apreciate this one- once your in a zone you can't get out of it- so awoke at 8 am (time zone change is out of window due to my flights working out perfect so i went to bed like midnight last night KL time). So was at a bit of a loss of what the hell to do. Had a good wander for an hour, decided this is about the time I should consider a map purchase- spotted a net cafe and decided to see what was happening in world. My homesickness will only come in the form off missing the modern world of 24/7 phone and net access.

Just sorted to meet friend by Patronus towers- which so far is slightly dissapointed in a sense- i can't see them towering over KL so not sure what direction to walk. When i say dissapointing it's in sense that when in Paris you can always see eiffel tower or in Berlin you can see TV tower so it's gives you a sense of direction.

Anyway time to find breakfast- i'm yet to eat here, problem being all the food I see i can't tell what it is- and menu's are in malaysian. I just want a bowl of spicy soup- going to try to order is my next task of the day.
