The beer factory trip that wasn't... :(

The same afternoon we wandered around Prague, we took a 2 hour drive down to Plzen, the home of Pilsen beers. We had intended to visit the beer museum and factory, but the old lady at the museum (who coincidently didnt speak english, it seems to be the trend in Czech) looked at her watch at said “no” we assumed that meant it was closed. but a glance at the lonely planet suggested it was in fact open until 6pm, and as it was not even 5 yet, we took a chance and drove over. It was still open, but we had just missed the last english tour. beer tours are all the same, so we skipped the boring bits and got straight into drinking a pint of the good stuff at the bar outside. A massive stage had been set up in front of the bar and a band looked like it was getting ready to perform, but after almost an hour, nothing had happened so we left, as we drove past less than half an hour later on our way back out of the town we looked in- the place was heaving with teenagers and the band was playing, kind of regretting not sticking around now!
