Cuenca, Ecuador

We came back from the Galapagos and took a bus directly to the town of
Cuenca. Nice town with a lot of colonial architecture set up in the Ecuadorian highlands. The highlight was that we got to see one last South American protest/riot before we went home, complete with exploding Molotov cocktails and police tanks. Besides some walking around and shopping, we didn't do a whole lot, and our thoughts began moving towards heading home. So, we decided to catch an early flight home out of
Guayaquil. Before our flight though, we spent some time with Nick and Beatriz Dale, who are friends from Athens who just recently bought a beautiful condo on the Malecon in Guayaquil. We walked around town with Nick and had a delicious dinner with the Dales before heading to the airport. It was a wonderful way to end our adventures.
