St Patrick's Day - 17/03/07 - Washington DC
Spent the day in DC walking round the City, saw most things I wanted, including Capitol Hill, Washington Monument, World War 11 Memorial, Lincoln Memorial and the Whitehouse.
There was a Protest in progress when I was there. It was quite amusing watching and listening to the Vietnam Veterans shouting abuse at the gay and lesbian peace protestors. Personally, I'm not sure whether they were of that persuasion, but the Veterans seemed convinced!
Great place, fantastic buildings and I think the President has got the rest of the USA to subsidise the coffee here, it must be the cheapest in the States!
Sat/Sun 18/03/07- DC through the Appalachian Mountains (Virginia)
Decided to drive through the night and landed at the foot of the Smokie Mountains around lunchtime in a town called Pigeon Force, Tennessee. Problem with the RV - no hot water, toilet flush broken and waste pipes under sink are leaking. So you can guess what I'll be doing on Monday. At least it's getting warmer.

Sounds good so far. If you carry on at this rate you'll be in L.A. by weekend. Good weekend in UK, Joseph had his 7th birthday on Saturday and went to the 10 pin Bowling to celebrate with 9 friends. Yesterday was mothers day and my Dad's birthday so we had the elderlys round for tea. Got to go - work to do (you remember what that is!). Mick,Susan and children.
