Barnaby in France
The ferry sailed from Plymouth at 11pm and arrived in Roscoff, in France at 7am
It was still dark in France.
Barnaby had 'mal de mer'. Do you think he was sea sick?
On the boat. Ian and Jane slept in a cabin. All the vehicles were on the bottom deck.
Shopping in France. Can you spot an apple, tomato, carrot, onion, grapes, cheese, bread (une bagette), a bottle of cider, olive oil and a carton of 'potage' soup?
Barnaby stopped for a picnic here but he couldn't understand the sign it said.........
Bathing prohibited!!!
This fruit is so juicy and sweet. It's used to make wine. Do you know what it is?
Barnaby in Spain
Los Correos, the postman's scooter.
The Spanish Pyrennes. Do you think we might need the suntan cream and walking boots today?
Barnaby is sitting on top of the land rover. Una vaca! the cow, on the mountainside had a big bell around its neck.
Oh oh, are we in Africa already? Not yet this is Aragon in North Eastern Spain.
Café con leche. Coffee with milk.
An olive tree. We drove through miles and miles of olive farms in Southern Spain.
Can you see the green unripe olives on the tree? Olives are used to make olive oil. Some people eat them with salads or as a starter.
Alba helped me cook a famous Spanish meal called paella. Can you spot the tomatoes, peas, prawns, squid, muscles (they are still in their shells) and rice?
The Spanish love to have fiestas. It was Sunday. The local villagers dressed up in these beautiful costumes whilst the men serenaded them with guitar music. We followed them all he way, singing and dancing, through the narrow streets to the church.
