Well, slept late today...was really tired from our tour yesterday!  On the road and arrived in Bandera at around 11:00 am.  So maybe I really didn't sleep that late.  Wow, talk about a small town...this is it!  Bandera is the cowboy capital of the world.  Bandera has been a cowboy town since the 1800's and many of the old buildings have been restored.  Right now it is a little quiet during the week but I am told it livens up on the weekends.  Drove down to the Polish church St Stanislaus...it is the 2nd oldest Polish church in the US...very beautiful.  Walked around downtown into the many shops and old buildings.  Sarge really wants a cowboy hat, but he doesn't want to spend a lot on it.  Well, we saw one hat today for $1895.00  I am thinking that is quite a lot for a hat!  I had no idea cowboy hats were that expensive.  The museum was very interesting and considering it was pretty empty we got a guided tour.  This lady could really do some talking!  But all was good.  We had lunch at this little diner type place, called OST...Old Spanish Trail!  We had tex-mex today and was very good....had lots of John Wayne memorabilia...very interesting.  Too bad we are not staying longer...on Wednesdays at the 11th Street bar they have a cookout...you bring your own meat to cook there and purchase side dishes, along with music.  The store keeper told us people come from all over and it is just a great time!   I got a hair cut today downtown....$12.00 I tried not to act too shocked.  Back to the campground early and doing some laundry.  Relax tonight a couple of long driving days coming up...off to New Mexico in the morning.
