Woke up this morning to a beautiful sunny day with few clouds in the sky. The view from our balcony of the majestic peaks is spectacular! Watched as the sun rose over the peaks.
The rest of the gang finally made it up by 8:00 am & off to breakfast. Then we headed over to First Bahn, a 30 minute gondola ride (longest in Europe), to the peak of First. We did a 1 hour hiked up a winding trail thru the mountain to the beautiful Bachalpsee lake. After a picnic lunch with the Alps as our backdrop we headed back to the gondolas for a ride part way down the mountain. We stopped at the Bort station and then rented Trotti-bikes (sort of a big scooter on steroids with some major brake power) for a 4.5km racy exhilarating ride down the mountain to Grindelwald. Wind in your hair, cow bells ringing, wild flowers everywhere and some close encounters with bees...

Glad you are having a good time. Loved seeing the pics in Rome - brought us back to our trip. Did you see anyone stealing money from the trevi fountain? "professionals". swiss alps are amazing aren't they? Love the cow bells.
Last day of school tomorrow. Goodbye grade 2 - hello grade 3!
