Hello!

So i had a loooong couple of flights to Bangkok, changing at Mumbai which was complete Chaos! A gaggle of indian women having what looked like a mini mosh pit going thru security. Eventually arrived in Bangkok where I managed to get 3 local buses to my destination of kanchaburi. Lovely small rural town 2 hours west of Bangkok, great guesthouse where im in my own bungalow on stilts with en suite on the edge of the river kwai for 4 quid. Randomly got drinking thai whisky with an ex Thai Army dude staying in the bungalow next door. Had to crash pretty early as jet lag was setting in. Awoke at 5am fully awake so went for a walk and saw the sun come up before heading to the Bridge over the River Kwai which was pretty impressive and walked across the wooden and metal slats to the other side. Amazing scenery with misty mountains in the background.

Decided to hire a bicycle to go to some cool temples on top of a hill south of town. Temperature was hitting around 35 degrees and i was trying to dodge hundreds of motorbikes, cars and buses. Loving it though! The temples were set amongst some fantastic scenery overlooking kanchanaburi. I was the only western guy there randomly amid loads of Girl Guides from Bangkok on a day trip who apparently wanted to try out their English and get their picture taken with me!

Came across another temple on the way back in a Cave with lots of cool bats with stairs also leading to the top of the hill. I managed to get to the top but after that and the 28km round trip on the bike i was spent!

Last day in Kanchanburi today and i went to Erawan Waterfalls about 65km north of town. Set amid the mountains and jungle scenery it had 7 tiers and the chance to go for a dip and cool off.

Its amazing to be back in the Land of Smiles, certainly feel at home and can't wait to continue my journey! :D
