Where I stayed
in a beach hut in baligan
Bye for now(no internet here but we'll try to keep you updated as much as possible)
So after 25 hours of travel we finally made it! We arrived in bali around 3pm(bali time 14 hour differnce then the states, our time 3 large bintangs after noon) where well haggling for the taxi we took care of what was important and got a round of bintangs, and boy were they amazing!(not the actual beer themselves, just the fact that you can only drink them in the setting of bali)We headed straight for the resort la joya where Nick and Danny stayed when they first went, just for the fact that they were familar with the place. La Joya was beautifuly landscaped had an awesome infinity pool, and it included airconditioning(quite an amenity in bali). The only thing with la joya is that it has tourist pricing, and on our 4 month trip it doesn't quite fit into the budget! So after the first night we headed down to the beach that la joya overlooks, Balangan also a famous surfspot, and met a family in a warung(hut) where we now stay,Its a little bit more in our budget at 2.38 US or 25,000 rupiah a night, and its paradise. The main lady(Mama) Me-me cooks for us whatever we want, well not whatever we want but rice and seafood, and banna pancakes, and always has cold bintangs ready for us after our 5 surf sessions in 80 degree water .Her son Sunny also caught us fresh seafood for a massive seafood bbq the second night, once again amazing. So for now we will be chilling here surfing and living the dream......... Oh I forgot to mention her son has brought a massive sound system into our warung which can blast music throughout the whole beach and all the way out where we surf(kind of funny)so we bought 13 cds for ten dollars so we also have music well we lie in our hammocks.......... we're jammin!
