Hello all.

So after my brief stint up (and back down) the coast, I was back in Sydney. Had to get a lot of injections, and despite my needle fear, I did ok. I just couldn't move afterwards. Collected a lot of e-mail addresses, drank some beer, played pool and ate pie and said many a goodbye. Flight to Bangkok (via Singapore) was at stupid o'clock in the morning. Quick note to say that Singapore Airlines rule. I had a choice of 60 films to watch....on my own screen!! I fell asleep!! The food is also top notch. Everyone said this is the best airline. I wait with baited breath.

Had a brief stop in Singapore Airport. Umm, it was very airporty. All of the Internet booths were free. That was cool. What wasn't cool, was me stepping off the plane to be stopped my security, holding my name up on card (albeit, TeRRence.....idiots!!). It was something about my ticket, but I showed them all my super ninja skills and they backed off in fear. Too right dammit!! Hopped on the next plane to Thailand, and the bloody TV didn't work. Doh!!

So yeah, no more Aus, it's all Asia, and a little step closer to home.

On the way in, Thailand looked like it was buried under a vale of death (or smog). Flying from Singapore, I got to see the outline of northern Malaysia. It was kinda cool.

Got to Thailand in the evening, and I think this is where the 'real' traveling kicks in. All of my senses are set to kill, as I am wary of everyone and everything. The us to the city cost 100baht (about 1.20) for a 1 hour ride). Super Cheap!! I hadn't planned any of where I am staying, so I went where all of the other travellers go. Khao San Rd. Its infamous!! It was heaving by the time I got there, and it looks like that every night I think. The myth that everything in Thailand is dirt cheap seems to be living up to its name. I had my dinner of pork omelet and rice from some trolley in the street for 25baht (about 30p) and I bought a long neck beer for a quid. Genius.

I had a bit of trouble finding a room, and a few place were completely full before I found where I am now. I'm in a room on my own for just under 7 quid a night. Everything in the room is for sale, including (check this out), the TV, the bed and/or the mattress, the bin, or the actual trash. I can pay for my own trash. And the curtain is for sale, even though I have no curtain, or window. I do have MTV though (angel noises come from heaven), though 90% is Thai. Still, its MTV. The first novel experience however came from my usage with the toilet. Panic ensued when I realised there was no bog roll halfway through number 2. Preparing to wet my hand in the sink, I discovered the jet spray hosy thing. It was an eye opening experience. And very cold, where it shouldn't be.

Have also noticed the odd ladyboy about. Be warned!! Actually it's really wierd. Their really girly (as they would be I guess), and I guess I stare 'cause now I have actually seen on in the flesh, as opposed to hearing jokes about them on Alan Partridge'. Don't worry, I won't be taking any phone numbers!!

So I'm planning to do a tour of the city, do a bit of spending and some other random things, but that's about it for now. More to come.
