G'day

Flight over was cool. Watched I,Robot. I thought it was cool. View out of the window was awesome. We were flying between two layers of cloud. Like being in a cloud sandwich. There was a person behind me on the trip that was scared of flying. Crying, , fast breathing and bricking it the whole time. His grip was locked on the back of my seat the whole flight. I felt really bad for him.

So.......Australia. The land of sun, sea and more cool stuff? Is it hell. I get here and its raining, cloudy and cold. Go figure. Must just be me. I could have sworn I left the bad weather back home. Maybe I'm just meant to be rained upon. Certainly knocks the wind out of my plan to busk on the beach front. I'm currently living in a hostel in Kings Cross. Apparently it's not the best place in Sydney. Prostitution is legal over here, and where I am is like London's Soho. All very interestingly lit up past 7. Ha ha. But all of the hostels are here, so I don't think it was me messing up on my choice of accom. Like Auckland, there are lot of Japanese here, but not that many of their shops.

So what have I been up to? Ummmm. Just wandering around really as I always do. Took a walk to the Opera House. Looks cool, but I thought it was all one building, but its actually made up of 3. There is a restaurant, a concert hall and an opera house. It was cool though. I didn't really wanna get the tour though (couldn't be bothered), but it looks cool from the outside, swamped with tourists. Oh and this is what I heard. The Japanese only get 1 weeks holiday a year, which is why they take so many pictures, though I am not too sure that is true. Took a trip to the infamous Bondi Beach. Let's just say that when I woke up, it was sunny. It was kinda cool though. There is a sign on the hill beside the beach saying Bondi Beach in the same style as the Hollywood sign in Los Angeles. Aside from that, it wasn't too impressive. Bloody bad weather, plus I thought the beach itself was quite small. Went around a few art exhibition on the beach front and had a look at some crazy art stuff. Aside from that? Sydney is just another city. I can't even boast that the weather is that nice, cause it ain't.

Met up with a guy that used to work with at Aon called John. He's a native Aussie. Was telling me about places to go as I had stressed that Sydney wasn't really doing anything for me. So I think I'm heading up north to Byron Bay. Apparently it's more my kind of scene. But it's all just planning at the mo.

Oh and the other night, I was in this travellers bar (on my own), and after a few I went over and started chatting to this woman. Can't remember her name now, but she was from Denmark, short, redhead, glasses etc. It was a good night, spent all night chatting and I now know how to say "where are my car keys?" in Danish (to add to my list of 10 languages). At the end of the night, I went to kiss her, but the look of shock on her face of an approaching alcohol induced Tel, said it all. I made my excuses and left. Ha ha ha.

At the moment, I'm kinda stuck, as I have no plan at the moment. I'm in the hostel working out some kind of rough plan. Not sure how long I am going to stay here. But it's quite expensive here in Aus which is worrying, so I am staying put for now. A lot of researching and reading about places/things to do etc etc. It's good hanging out with the people from the hostel. It's a young crowd and it's good getting advice off everyone about where they have been etc etc

That's about it for now.

Adios
