What I did
Unpacked, cut the grass, and rested.
We had a great adventure. No doubt about that.
Would we do it again? Yes, but not in an RV. You see, we're not RV people. We're tent campers. Since we went to bear country with a dog, tent camping was not really a safe idea. So.... we rented an RV. It was our first and last experience in an RV.
We are, however, going to build a teardrop trailer next year. It's one of those hard shell campers that you tow. It looks like a teardrop on its side. Big enough to sleep in. The back opens like a trunk to expose the kitchen. Kind of like a chuck wagon kitchen. We'll have a propane stove and probably a sink with water on board. All that has yet to be decided.
The RV was a bit disappointing when it came to the gray water tank. It didn't even last a day before we had to dump it. Then, the convection/microwave oven was missing a needed metal rack and the turntable didn't turn. It still worked, but not as well as it could have. The RV was noisy on the road, too, and it got horrible gas mileage. The worst tank of gas was something like 6.5MPG and the best tank of gas was 11.6MPG. I'm not sure how much gas we used, yet. We still have to tally that up. The most we paid for a gallon of gas was $3.89. The least we paid was $3.33. We definitely had a large carbon footprint out there.
Oh yeah.... we also kept cracking our head whenever we wanted to go from the living space to the front driver's or passenger seat. That got to be a running joke throughout the trip.
Other than the quirks with the RV, we have no regrets. We stayed safe and used our heads. We thoroughly enjoyed our adventure.
Thanks for sharing our adventure with us!

This was an awesome blog! I thoroghly enjoyed it! The alien water tank....LOL!
I'm glad you guys had such a good time! I would have enjoyed the tent better too, but I'm glad you guys thought about how Bailey would act around bears! haha. I still have to tell you about my Walkabout experience in detail, and how we were in bear county 24/7 without a tent! :O
