Oh my god. Another 0530 start. We manged to get a tuk-tuk driver to take us the 12km to the historical park, quite an extraordinary distance for him I think, we had to call in to the petrol station on the way!

The park was alrady open when we arrived at0600 and we hired bikes, the old school sit up and beg sort with no gears and made tracks for the temple action. Unfortunately the sunrise was unsensational, but the chilled atmosphere was and we were able to beetle about undisturbed for a good couple of hours after which we went out to watcha parade in honour of the kings birthday and have some brekkie after which we returned to look at some of the more remote temples out of the main complex which took us a good couple of hours in the hot sun. It was thoroughly lovely.

After all that fun we had some hard travelling work to do, we raced back to the hotel collected our bags and raced back to the bus station to catch a 1300 bus to Chiang Mai. the journey took a good 5hours on a packed un-air conditioned bus with vinyl seats. I were sweating buckets and everytime I moved I flayed the back of my legs on the seats, and we were the lucky ones who had seats, there were an awful lot of people standing!

When we arrived in town we could see from the tuk-tuk that a night market was in full swing, so without further ado! The market was great, and we did quite literally shop til we dropped, finally calling it a day at midnight.
