We visited this ancient, pre-Inca sacrificial site of the Aymara civilization. It was built between 40 and 700 A.D. It is the most important Bolivian heritage site. Our guide was excellent, to the point that he was killing us with detail. We then had a delicious Bolivian meal of quinoa soup, salads, trout from Lake Titicaca and Bill tasted the lama, which he thought was just OK. The other members of our Gap group are from South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, England, Italy and Japan. They are all about 30 years old and they will all be hiking the Machu Pichu trail except Bill and I. We think we made the right decision to take the train up, due to expected rain as this is the rainy season.
