After the long and sleepless night I was more like an angry bear than my normal placid, lovable, and somewhat handsome self in the morning. It was one of those nights that made me think, thank god I don't have any babies anymore to tend to. Me and sleep deprivation don’t tend to be a recipe for a blissful day. Although I have to say my laid back lifestyle meant the day was fairly smooth on my negative feelings towards the French Barbie girls.

Pretty boring day driving, drove for roughly 4 hours until our stop at the aires, a lovely place with an amazing shire horse in the field adjacent to us (see the video). Now that I am used to horses I thought I would try my new confidence and feed her over the fence, this horse was more like a bull crossed with an elephant, the muscle of a bull and size of an elephant. Huge, she was a gentle giant though, she took food from the hand very gently and was an amazing animal to be near.

Met another lovely Belgium couple on the aires, this couple invited us into their caravan motor home conversion, it was great. I love Belgium people, they are the best of French and German mixed together but without any obvious annoying tendencies. Not that French and Germans are annoying but the English attitude towards them tends to be a little antiquated. We love the French more and more although they get so much bad press in the UK from people, they are lovely people. As long as you make the effort to speak a little of their native tongue. If you think about it the English are a bit rude really as we expect everyone to speak our language to make things easy for us.
