So, today we left Mykonos, and headed for Venice!! It was a LONG travel day. It started with us packing, and trying to squish everything in our bags. Easyjet has a limit of one carry on, and you have to pay for checked baggage. Because I am cheap, I only paid for one bag. This  would have been fine, because my bags convert to one bag, and I have a purse. But, Sascha had a cute little black and white polka dot bag, a purse, and a completely massacred carry on. So in my state of awesomeness from this morning, I figured out that we could put her two small bags, and my purse in to my straw beach bag! Brilliant.

We checked out of our hotel, gave kisses goodbye, and flew to Athens. Kostas was able to come out to meet me at the airport, which was great. Having friends so far away is so difficult. You never really know when you are going to see them again. So we checked in to our Easyjet flight, and I went for a coffee with Kosta. It was great to catch up again. Laughing about our time together in January, watching planes take off- both of us love to do that at airports. We went for a walk and before we knew it, it was time to say goodbye. A quick goodbye, then Sascha and I were off to go through security for our flight to Milan. I'm still bad at goodbyes, for those of you who read my last blog. Yes, I teared up.

Anyways, the flight to Milan was just a few hours, so we ordered some food, and Sascha fell asleep. Somehow I ended up thinking it that the last train to Venice from Milan was at 7:05. And our flight was to land at 5:05. And I also had read that it could possibly take 2 hours to get to the train station from the airport. So midway through the flight I started to have a coronary, thinking that we weren't going to make it. I was so not in to sleeping in a train station. On Easyjet flights you can purchase transportation tickets for the city you are flying to, so I bought our tickets for the bus to the train station so we wouldn't have to worry about it after wards. Sascha was sleeping soundly, and I was freaking out. The plane landed and I we had to book it across the airport. Note to self, the Milan Malpensa airport is kind of weird. You have to walk all the way around the outside just to get to baggage claim. It took forever for our bags to come out, but when they did, we were off like a light! We got out to the buses and waited just a few minutes for ours to arrive. We got our seats and started the long drive to the train station. The sound of lips smacking together quickly got our attention. Two rows in front of us, a couple of Italian teenagers were making out like there was no tomorrow. It looked as if they haven't seen each other in months. The guy was super creepy, he had this look in his eye that made me scared, I don't know how the girl dealt with it. If I were her I would have been terrified to have my face bitten off or something like that. What made it worse was that quickly after seeing this couple, I noticed that this guy looked a lot like a friend of ours. I had to share this with Sascha, and we laughed about it for a while, until we were so completely grossed out we had to stop talking about it lol. The ride was about an hour, and by the time it was over, I was sooo glad to be away from this couple, I didn't really care where it dropped us off!

I quickly found the ticket booth and purchased the tickets for the train ride to Venice. We had to run because we had about 5 minutes to get on the train. We ran through the platforms and hopped on the first 2nd class car we found. Luckily we got on the right car and didn't have to walk through the train with our bags. Some girl was in our seats, but eventually moved and we sat down. The guy facing me decided that because he was about 5'11 he should get all of the leg room. He had a big backpack in between is fully stretched out legs. I had no option but to put my feet on top of his shoes! Turd. He eventually got off, and I was able to relax. The countryside was gorgeous. I loved the trip. I highly recommend taking a train through the Italian countryside one day.

We arrived in Venice when it was already dark. We had to then get on a Vaporetto (a boat that is basically a bus) and get off after 45 minutes. This was pretty simple, as was finding our hotel. Our hotel is right on the Lagoon, just at the end of the Grand Canal. We walked up to it, and there was no sign so we weren't sure if we were at the right place or not. This man said hello to me from a balcony above us, and waved me in, then pressed the buzzer so we could open the door. I wasn't sure if this was it, or if he was just inviting me up. So I called Sascha over, and we went on up. Good thing it was our hotel. I can't call it a hotel. It is a B & B. There are 3 rooms, a parlor, and dining area. It is run by a man in his mid 30's and his father. When we walked in I was slightly skeptical, but too tired to care. We got in to our room and quickly changed in to our pj's and hopped in to bed. Hysteria hit us, especially when one of the slats from the bottom of my bed fell out. We lay in bed laughing till we were almost crying. We were discussing how we probably weren't going to make it out alive. And wondering why our door only locked from the outside.. And what that little door was on the side of our room, and why it was locked. I text messaged Kosta to let him know where we were, just in case. And the turd was so reassuring... He said we would be dead by morning. Grr.

We fell asleep quickly, and were somewhat shocked when we woke up the next morning.
