I love this place!
We have been on a tour to Valparaiso, and to Vina Del Mar. They were amazing cities. They are right beside each other on the coast, and they are holiday towns for all the residents of mendoza and santiago, because they are so close, only 1.5 hours from santiago. We saw parks, cool statues, a lot of palm trees, an original moai, the beach, pablo neruda's old house in valparaiso, the neat streets, we went up in an elevator, ummmmm and had lunch on the water.
We also have done a couple of walking tours of Santiago. People are so freindly and helpful. The city is very nice, and very easily laid out. You don't even need a map. There is a little hill in the middle of the old part of the city. It is called Cerro Santa Lucia, and you walk up to the top on staircases that are elegance personified. The day we chose to do this was 35 degrees. A little warm (heard about another storm in vancouver..hahaha). We also had starbucks!!! yay starbucks!!! I think that santigo is more metropolitain then buenos aires, and that there aren't as many things for a tourist to do here, but the people alone make it a worthwhile stop! We also went to a couple more artesan markets, the stuff is amazing, and compared to our prices it is cheap!
I also got some bad news from home recently, a family member has passed away. Very sad, but I am surviving, the pool and the sunshine and the smiley people help a lot. Speaking of which, the pool is calling....

OMG ...I'm so Sorry! That's terrible. Please give my deepest condolences to your family next time you speak to them. I have many great memories from that home.
