We went to see Mao's mausolium, which was pretty incredible. I didn't know that Chinese people could actually be that quiet. Even the whining toddler in line behind us was shushed and kept quiet the whole time.

We headed up to see the Olympic buildings in late afternoon. The air is disgusting in Beijing. I have been coughing and on the verge of using my inhaler for the past few days. I guess they are planning on shutting down the factories a couple of weeks before the Olympics, or the athletes will actually just die during competition.

Going to see the buildings was very cool, even though they were pretty far away. The whole place is still under major construction -- it is sort of unbelievable that it will be done in a couple of months.

While we were walking there, lost among the construction, Trae was looking at a map and smashed his toe on a big slab of stone randomly laying in the middle of the sidewalk. It is looking fine now, but we were very happy that we had Chelsea's emergency kit with us.
