We are finally in the Holy Land!  We left 32 hours ago, and for the most part had a relatively easy travel.  Mom got chosen for finger swab to check for explosive residue...We did come in crooked when we landed in Chicago, which made for a rough landing.

We had several hours in Chicago, followed by the long flight to Frankfurt.  A few more hours there...In Frankfurt, the airport security was very thorough, every passenger was wand checked.  Dad had to "go behind the curtain" and drop his pants for the security office because not only was he wearing a back brace he was also wearing a heating pad.  Apparently that's a no-no.  As we waited to board the plane it started snowing!  So we were delayed 30 minutes from boarding, and it kept snowing...after boarding, we sat on the plane for an hour.  Mmm hmm.  We got in the cue to take off, and then were told we needed to de-ice the plane.  No joke, they sprayed orange crap and then neon green crap all over the plane to de-ice it.  Then, we continued on in the cue, only to be told we had to wait until they plowed the runway.  Soo...by this point our captain had started out saying the delay was no problem, we would still be on time.  Well, by the time we took off he was laughing at our continued delays.

So, we've now  arrived in Tel Aviv, checked into our hotel, had dinner, and are now ready to plop our feet in the Mediterranean, which most of us can see from our rooms!  Yeay!  Exhausted but looking forward to what awaits us tomorrow.  Will type some general background info tomorrow....currency here is the shekel, there are 600 miles of security fences that separate the Israeli communities from the Palestinian communities.

Well sorry about grandpas pants- must have been embarrassing. Dad says its still nothing compared to Thailand. I wish I could see the orange crap they sprayed to di-ice the plane- that would be cool.
Here in Cali- It's quite freezing. So much for the sunny weather.
So midnite must know that mom's not here and rules don't need to be followed- she was found sleeping in our bed (middle of the day, of course) and while Meig was at practice (midnite was home alone) midnite ate meighann's cupcake out of her lunch box. It was a huge cupcake. And midnite has still been eating all night.

Can't wait the read the rest of your stories! Wish I could be there...!
I love you all :)

And Meig will be on shortly after she figures out how to use her email.... Kid is not that good with technology
