A later start and an on time pickup gets us on the freeway back to LAX. An easy check-in at United. Then the usual TSA security checks, actually better than usual, we were through very quickly so some time to sit and catch up. It is a four hour plus flight to Chicago and most of the team are well asleep on the plane. We had a small hiccup with Hertz but they came good in the end with our big van. It was sunset as we arrived and dark when we climbed in and headed to our accommodations, a Best Western in Hillside, 2 hours time difference and we are eating dinner at 9:30 pm. All fine, off to bed tired.

We have managed to book into the L. Loop tour with the Chicago Architecture foundation, that's on at 10:30 tomorrow, so we will need to have breakfast at 8am. Leave at 9am. We are also hoping to get to the planetarium for the transit of Venus, once in a lifetime chance and it would be good for the Bossley crew to see it in Chicago.
