Where I stayed
We caught a bus to Westminster Cathedral. It was another amazing place full of history and ornate mosaics. We really lucked out as a service was beginning with a beautiful choir singing themselves into place. Heidi said, "I'll bet that's your first Mea Culpa, Mea Culpa, Mea Maxima Culpa".
We walked on to Westminster Abby and then Parliament. Being Saturday, the MP's were not in session. We moved on to the London Eye - the giant Ferris wheel 440 ft tall. Lines were long, but they moved pretty fast and we got to see the city from a unique perspective.
From there, we went to the theatre district to get tickets for a show. We passed by the Calvary Museum and Trafalgar Square on the way. You can't throw a stone without hitting something famous! We got tickets to see Oliver. It was great. The set was unbelievable. The cast and orchestra were very good. We noticed a couple of things we weren't used to: At intermission, just about everyone got little cups of ice cream and standing ovations are not just given away!
