We are leaving today to go to Kanchanaburi since everyone here thinks that going to Khao Yai nat'l park is a really bad idea. Yesterday Ashley and I decided that all we were going to do was eat curry and get massages since our first day was so crazy. It turned out that we had to spend the whole day figuring out how to get to the bus station, then once at the bus station figure out which ticket goes where, and then the same thing for the train station to buy our future ticket to ko phi phi. But everything turned out because of some thai man who magically made our reservations happen.

Also had some delicious green curry with some gelatinous fish pieces. We named it the jello curry. I also tried to buy one lychee, what I thought were spiky pink green yellow space fruit. (I have so many pictures and this really needs one but cant' upload them yet, so please check back for the space fruit picture) but handed her 20 baht and through some miscommunication got a pound? of lychees, well, a big giant bag. And the lady at the front desk of our guesthouse kindly informed me that they weren't lychees but bam something something. It's obviously not lychee season and even though the white slimy fruit looks just like lychees they have different tastes. obviously. Karen, I also tried the best chive dumplings (I had two for you) , fried on the street a cut into pieces with some not so clean scissors. amazing of course. I'm trying to eat as much as possible as Thai is probably my favorite cuisine and I have no idea what anything is but I'm going to eat it anyway, but its so hot that I'm just not that hungry.

OH!!!! AND I tried DURIAN! A giant brown stinky spiky fruit that is yellow and creamy in consistency with pods in the middle that kind of tastes like fruity hotdogs or some type of fruity custard meat. I can't even really describe it but I didn't hate it but I definitely couldn't finish a whole pod. I should mention that it is banned on buses for its stinkyness. Also picked up some green tea toothpaste which rocks my socks. It was that or lotus flavor. Ashley and I are headed to the bus stop to Kanchanaburi hopefully they have internet

Wait! one more thing. We are staying at Sam's river guesthouse on the river Kwai on a floating raft. How peaceful, no? Only $4, good deal right? We didn't realize when we booked but apparently it can be quite noisy because of the numerous disco rafts and karoke rafts where people get loaded on the "sauce" as Opa would say, on the river and sing bad karoke all night . . . . all night. Can't wait
