So today we have to drive to Rapid City, which is also in South Dakota.  We started the day by dropping by Sioux Falls Park, home to the infamous 'Sioux Falls' which gives the town its name.  Sioux Falls is a waterfall, on the Sioux River.  The park has a Winter Wonderland set-up at this time of year (Christmas) which consists of pretty lights, but we were there in the daytime.  The park is very pretty, and we had fun playing on the rocks and in the ice.  We met a guy who told us all about the town, which added to our experience.

So then we hit the road.  We had to drive pretty much to the other side of South Dakota, along Interstate 90.  No state lines to cross this time.  As we were driving we started to see signs for 'the Worlds Largest Corn Palace!!' so we decided that this could not be missed.  It was indeed a large palace, but only the outside was made of corn.  It turned out to be a stadium where concerts were held and  the local basketball team played.

So on we went towards Rapid City, stopping at the occasional rest stop.  It was around a 5 hour drive, made longer by stopping, but we eventually reached our hotel which was a Days Inn.  We are here for 2 nights, and it's Mt Rushmore tomorrow!  Horray for South Dakota!
