I’m getting bored of Sydney already. Maybe it’s because the weather isn’t that good…I mean it’s ok but not sunny. It’s not beach weather. I have met a really nice girl called Natalie who I’m hoping to do some travelling with at some point. She is spiritual and loves India. I love talking to her. We have also met a lovely girl called Laura, and Kt and I went to the cinema with her today to see ‘The Tourist’. It was good. You can’t complain about Angelina Joli and Johnny Depp.
I feel like I’ve rinsed Sydney dry. Everyone says they prefer Melbourne, and that Sydney isn;t that good. I always thought I would love Sydney, but I can definitely see what they mean. It’s very touristy, full of British backpackers just getting drunk. It’s like being in the UK but with beaches and better weather. I tried Sushi today. It's not that bad, but I wouldn't choose it over aanything else.
Getting a job is going well. I have contacted the agency and Nicky is just waiting to hear from me about my mobile number. I have to get a sim card tomorrow, along with the other important stuff: - tax file number, bank account, Medicare etc. We are going up to the Blue Mountains on the 3rd, spending 2 nights there and then making our way to Perth so that we are ready for working. I’ll do an RSA in Perth, because they are only valid in the state where you do them. You need an RSA (Responsible Serving of Alcohol) certificate to work in a bar.
So there is just New Years to look forward to, and the Zoo should be good. . Other than that I’m looking forward to moving on, earning some money and being able to go and do what I came to Australia to do….lie on the beach, learn to sail and surf, ride a jet ski and lots of other things. Getting hammered in bars with Brits isn’t on my agenda…I can do that back at home, and still choose not to.
