Just a couple of lines about our stay at Bora Bora. We first flew into Tahiti the day before we were transferred to the Bora Bora Atol, which is about 40-50 miles Northwest of the main island. You are transferred by a small plane and picked up by a boat sent from the hotel. The view of the Atol is unbelievable when you fly over it, the colour of the water is turquoise because it is very shallow towards the reef edge. When you arrive your amazed how idyllic the place is. There is not a lot to do but swim, sunbathe and snorkel. We did have a canoe one day to paddle to a couple of the smaller islands. The fish swimming around your water bungalows are great all the different colours and types, we also had manta rays by us. We did pamper ourselves one day (on our 25th wedding anniversary) with a half day spa treatment. we were washed and squashed as Michael Palin calls it. Plenty of wine, champagne and food we are now officially 16 stone each!
